James McNaught-Davis

James is a partner of Deep Energy Capital with over 30 years of financial markets experience, of which 15 years directly in the energy industry. Prior to joining Deep Energy Capital, James was the Chairman of Modular Geothermal Power, a geothermal project developer in Southeast Asia, and of Green Energy Geothermal which provided innovative, modular, wellhead geothermal power plants as an EPC contractor to customers including KenGen of Kenya. Between 2007 and 2017, he was Managing Partner of WHEB Partners, a sustainability focused investment firm, during which decade he led that firm’s climatetech private equity investment business and oversaw its renewable energy infrastructure investment business. James was previously a Partner of Advent Venture Partners in London and of Warburg Pincus in New York and London. Before moving into private equity, James was responsible for M&A at Misys Plc, an acquisitive London stock exchange quoted software group, and was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch (equity capital markets) and at Schroders (project finance). James holds an MA (honours) degree from Cambridge University and an MBA from Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania).
