Volker is a partner at Deep Energy Capital with over 35 years of energy industry experience, including 30 years with Shell plc, developing, overseeing, and advising oil and gas projects globally (Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Netherlands, UK, US, Nigeria, Argentina, Oman and Tunisia). He has built and led large, multidisciplinary technical teams executing onshore and offshore drilling, integrated well design, subsurface evaluation, geophysical surveys and field development planning. As General Manager at Shell, Volker oversaw and led HSSE, Social Performance, and non-technical risk assessments across Shell’s upstream and integrated gas projects and new ventures. Prior to joining Deep Energy Capital, Volker was leading the transition of a large upstream asset from an IOC to an independent energy company in Asia and developed a portfolio of field projects in Oman, Tunisia and Malaysia. Volker holds a PhD in Geology / Paleontology from the University of Cologne (Germany) and an executive MBA from IMD (Switzerland).
